4-day Atlas trekking Morocco, the High Plateau of Yagour. An amazing hike in the high Atlas mountains, Days are spent trekking through pockets of solitude, whilst evenings are spent camping on beautiful high pastures used by nomadic shepherds.
4-day Atlas trekking Morocco – The Yagour Plateau
Day 1: Marrakech – Ikiss – Agdal n irkan > trekking in Morocco
You will be picked up at your place in Marrakech by our guide and driver at 9 am. You then start driving towards the high atlas mountains, the small villages of Ikiss(1700) where you meet our trekking staff. you will hike up the Tizi n Tanoutfi mountains pass(2200m) where you stop for lunch. After lunch, you head down to Ouarzazt village and the plateau of Yagour for the night in tents.
Day 2: Agdal n Irkan – Lake Ait Moussa – Amddouz
After breakfast in the camp, we explore some old engravings and head across the cultivated terraces and meet many nomads. We trek to the lake of Ait Moussa(2450m) and stop for lunch on the way. After lunch, we carry on to our camp in the viewpoint of Amdouz(2100m)
Day 3: Amddouz – Agrd – Tizi n Wochg – Tizi n Aghri pass
Start your morning by walking down a zigzag trail via some waterfalls and a great rock formation. We will be passing through some Berber villages including Agrd and Tizi n Ouarge, and a nice afternoon walk up to the green pasture and Tizi n Aghri for the night in tents.
Day 4: Tizi n Oughri – Tichki – Marrakech > 4-day atlas trekking Morocco
Beautiful walk under the Mount Yagour cliffs and stop for lunch at the villages of Tichki. After lunch, we say bye to our group muleteers and get in our minivan/4×4. 90 minutes drive back to Marrakech which will be the end of our lovely 4-day Atlas trekking Morocco.
